Jakarta, August 20, 2026 – To celebrate the 81st Anniversary of Indonesian Independence, InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) is presenting a series of activities at The Nusa Dua, The Mandalika, and The Golo Mori in August 2026. This event is a collaboration with employees, tenants, the public, businesses, and stakeholders. These activities include ceremonies, arts and culture, folk festivals, culinary events, carnivals, social activities, blood drives, and environmental awareness.
This series of activities is part of ITDC's efforts to celebrate independence through destination activations that not only provide experiences for residents and tourists but also benefit the surrounding environment. Each area offers activities tailored to its unique character and potential, strengthening togetherness and enlivening activities at the destinations.
ITDC's Director of Operations, Troy Reza Warokka, stated that the momentum of Indonesia's 81st Anniversary presents an opportunity to strengthen interactions between destinations, communities, and the tourism ecosystem. "We present the spirit of independence through activities that are not merely ceremonial, but also build togetherness, provide experiences, and provide benefits to the community. At The Nusa Dua, a series of activities emphasized the spirit of social care through blood drives, flower offerings and tributes to veterans, and assistance for children in need. The Nusa Dua Blood Drive was held on August 14th at The Nusa Dua Wantilan.
Meanwhile, honoring veterans was done with a flower offering and assistance distribution on August 18th at the Kreta Kirttya Mandala Heroes Cemetery in Gianyar Regency. On the same day, ITDC also distributed aid to children at the Dharma Jati Foundation Orphanage in Banjarangkan, Klungkung Regency.
At The Mandalika, the 81st Indonesian Independence Day celebrations began with a Beach Clean-Up at Seger Beach on Friday (August 7th), followed by a wreath-laying at the Mandalika Praya Heroes' Cemetery and a gathering with veterans from Central Lombok Regency on Thursday (August 13th). On Friday (August 14th), the celebrations continued with a blood drive involving the ITDC Group and stakeholders, a mangrove planting event in Lot MG, East Area of The Mandalika, and a tree planting event at Bukit 360 in collaboration with the West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police and the Central Lombok Regency Government.
The culmination of the celebrations took place on Monday (August 17th) with a Thanksgiving Ceremony for the 81st Indonesian Independence Day at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, involving approximately 1,500 participants. The celebrations opened with the raising of the Red and White flag by the Flag Raising Team (Paskibra) and included microlight displays, a marching band, Tastura Inline Skate, folk games, a decorated bicycle race, and arts and cultural performances such as Peresean (Peresean), pencak silat (pencak silat), and Gandrung Dance.
The uniqueness of the celebrations was also present through a carnival parade along a 1.5-kilometer and 4.3-kilometer circuit involving various elements and communities. To empower the local economy, Kuliner Merdeka (Freedom Culinary) involved 10 local MSMEs and provided 1,500 food packages, complementing the independence celebrations that combined community togetherness, local culture, social awareness, and environmental awareness.
Meanwhile, The Golo Mori presented a series of activities combining environmental awareness, social action, and national spirit. The series of activities began with a beach clean-up at Pasir Panjang Beach and an Independence Day Competition at Golo Mori Beach on August 13, 2026. The series continued with a Merdeka Blood Drive at Golo Convention Hall, open to the public, and a social visit and distribution of basic necessities to children's orphanages on August 14, 2026.
Furthermore, in Jakarta, the spirit of independence was embodied through social actions and honoring the services of heroes. ITDC distributed donations and basic food packages to children at the Rumah Piatu Muslimin Orphanage in Central Jakarta as a form of social responsibility and the company's contribution to the community. This spirit was also demonstrated through a pilgrimage and wreath-laying event at the Kalibata National Heroes' Cemetery in Jakarta on August 19, as a form of respect and appreciation for the heroes who fought to secure and maintain Indonesian independence.
The diversity of activities in the three areas reflects the character of each destination while strengthening the areas' role as vibrant and open spaces for various activities.
