The Mandalika, October 4, 2025 – The Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2025 at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), has set a new benchmark as the best edition since its debut. This year’s event showcased significant improvements across all aspects — from technical execution and audience services to supporting infrastructure. Public enthusiasm for this year’s race was evident from the full occupancy of hotels within The Mandalika area, reaching 100% capacity and even exceeding available rooms. According to data from the NTB Tourism Office, the average hotel occupancy rate across Lombok Island during the race period reached 93%, with Mataram City at 90%, while Mandalika recorded a perfect 100%. This not only reflects the strong appeal of the event among both domestic and international fans but also highlights its positive economic ripple effect on the tourism sector in NTB — boosting hotel performance, transportation services, and local MSMEs driven by the surge in visitors. To accommodate the increased travel demand, several airlines operated additional flights to Lombok. A total of 44 extra flights were recorded, consisting of Garuda Indonesia (18 flights), Citilink (10), AirAsia (8), Pelita Air (2), and Wings Air (6). The rise in flight frequency underscores MotoGP™’s role as a major driver of visitor mobility and a catalyst for NTB’s tourism growth. Beyond the excitement of motorsport, this year’s event also served as a cultural showcase — introducing the world to Lombok’s traditions, arts, and Sasak heritage. From the warm cultural welcome for riders and visitors to local culinary experiences and handicraft exhibitions, every element reflected the authentic spirit of Central Lombok. Maya further emphasized that the event also demonstrates how Indonesia’s cultural richness and local wisdom can be integrated into a global sporting experience, strengthening Mandalika’s positioning as a sportstainment destination that delivers tangible benefits for local communities. Chairman of the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2025, Troy Warokka, highlighted that this year’s success was the result of strong collaboration among various stakeholders and a reflection of the shared vision to establish Mandalika as a global sport tourism icon. “The 2025 edition stands as the best we have ever organized. The Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit’s renewed Grade A Homologation from the FIM confirms that it meets the highest international standards, on par with the world’s most iconic tracks. This achievement is not only a source of national pride but also a direct contribution to the people of Lombok and NTB through tourism growth, creative economy development, and the enhancement of Indonesia’s international reputation,” Troy said. The Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2025 once again proved to be more than a prestigious motorsport stage — it is an economic and cultural powerhouse. The fully booked accommodations, supported by 44 additional flights from various airlines, illustrate the strong multiplier effect across hospitality, transportation, MSMEs, and cultural industries.
