The Nusa Dua, Bali, 25 September 2026 – InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) continues to transform the assets and infrastructure of The Nusa Dua, Bali, through its area rejuvenation program. As of Week 36, covering the period from 30 August to 5 September 2026, the program has achieved 58.53% physical progress, a significant increase from the previous achievement of 23.7%.
The program forms part of ITDC’s efforts to maintain the quality and competitiveness of The Nusa Dua as an integrated tourism destination. The rejuvenation is not merely aimed at physical improvements across the area, but also at enhancing infrastructure functions, connectivity, supporting facilities, public spaces, and the quality of tourism experiences within the destination’s ecosystem.
General Manager of The Nusa Dua, I Made Agus Dwiatmika, said that the area rejuvenation program is part of ITDC’s efforts to ensure that The Nusa Dua’s assets and destination environment continue to evolve in line with tourist needs and the dynamics of the tourism industry.
“The rejuvenation of The Nusa Dua is not merely about infrastructure development and renewal. We see this as part of a broader effort to improve the overall quality of the area, ensuring that existing assets and facilities can optimally support tourism activities, tenants, business operators, events, and the needs of all stakeholders,” Agus said.
According to him, continuous improvements in the quality of the area are necessary to ensure that The Nusa Dua maintains its appeal and competitiveness amid the development of the global tourism industry.
“The 58.53% progress represents an important achievement, but what matters most to us is ensuring that every project undertaken enhances the functionality of the area, delivers a better experience for tourists, and creates added value for all stakeholders,” he added.
Several projects under the rejuvenation program are currently underway, including the upgrading and renewal of internal roads, access improvements from Gate AC to Peninsula, the construction of Groin 01 and Groin 02, improvements to access points at Waterblow and Peninsula, wastewater and infiltration system installations, and the access road to Nusa Dharma Island. During Week 36, several projects also recorded implementation progress, including Groin 2 and the Beach Toilet Facility.
ITDC, together with the appointed contractors, continues to oversee and control project implementation to ensure that all stages proceed according to the established targets while maintaining construction quality. Optimizing Peninsula as part of the Destination Experience.
One of the key areas in the transformation of The Nusa Dua is Peninsula Island. The area continues to be developed as one of the destination’s focal points by optimizing its open spaces to support tourism activities, recreation, community activities, and various events.
The development of Peninsula Island forms part of ITDC’s approach to creating a destination that not only offers quality infrastructure but also provides activities and experiences that make the area more vibrant.
“We are developing Peninsula Island not only as a public space but also as part of the destination experience. Infrastructure improvements will be implemented alongside various area activation initiatives, making Peninsula Island more vibrant, distinctive, and valuable to The Nusa Dua,” Agus said.
This approach reflects ITDC’s efforts to optimize the area more comprehensively by considering the interconnectedness of infrastructure, public spaces, tourism activities, and visitor experiences. Rejuvenation continues with a commitment to sustainability.
The transformation of the area also continues to prioritize sustainability. The Nusa Dua has approximately 97 hectares of green open space (Ruang Terbuka Hijau/RTH), accounting for 27% of the total area, with more than 5,700 trees representing 138 vegetation species.
The area also implements a lagoon system to treat and reuse wastewater for irrigating green spaces.
“We want this rejuvenation to do more than simply improve the appearance of the area. It should also enhance functionality, comfort, and environmental quality. Sustainability will remain an important part of every step in the development of The Nusa Dua,” Agus said.
ITDC will continue implementing the rejuvenation program while maintaining a balance between improvements in physical quality, area functionality, tourism experiences, and environmental sustainability.
“Moving forward, our focus is on maintaining this momentum and accelerating project implementation while continuing to prioritize quality. We want the new look of The Nusa Dua to be not only visually better but also to deliver a more comfortable, high-quality, and sustainable experience for tourists and all stakeholders,” Agus concluded.
