Yogyakarta, September 20,2026 – Enthusiasm for the upcoming Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026 continues to build through a series of activities under the Road to Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026 program. Held at JNM Bloc, Yogyakarta, PT Pertamina (Persero) and InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) hosted the AustrianGP 2026 Watch Party on Sunday (September 20), providing an opportunity to bring the MotoGP™ atmosphere closer to the public while strengthening excitement ahead of the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026 at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit on October 9–11, 2026.
The event brought together MotoGP™ fans and the Yogyakarta motorsport community through a range of activities, including a talk show, discussions, a community convoy, and a watch party featuring the Moto3™, Moto2™, and MotoGP™ races of the AustrianGP.
The event began with an interactive talk show featuring Muhammad Baron, Vice President of Corporate Communication at PT Pertamina (Persero); RM Gusthilantika Marrel Suryokusumo, President Commissioner of Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA); KPH Wironegoro; and Sadiq Apriadi, representing the Organizing Committee and ITDC.
The Watch Party was also supported by sponsors who attended and participated in the event, namely PT Pertamina (Persero), PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk, and Astra Honda Motor (AHM). The involvement of various stakeholders further strengthened collaboration in building public enthusiasm toward the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026.
Vice President of Corporate Communication at PT Pertamina (Persero), Muhammad Baron, said Pertamina's support for the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia is part of the company's commitment to supporting sports and national talent while showcasing Indonesia's potential through a world-class sporting event.
"The Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia is not only a world-class motorsprot competition, but also a platform to showcase Indonesia's potential, including its tourism, culture, and national talent. Through Pertamina's support, we want to continue building public enthusiasm to support Indonesian riders competing on the world stage," said Baron.
He added that Watch Party activities held in various regions provide the public with broader opportunities to enjoy MotoGP™ while building excitement ahead of the event at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit. Collaboration among organizers, sponsors, communities, and the public is an important part of creating a broader positive impact from the international sporting event.
The Watch Party series is also part of the journey toward the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026 at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit. Through this international event, The Mandalika continues to be strengthened as a sport tourism destination that brings together sports, tourism, culture, and experiences for tourists and fans from Indonesia and around the world.
President Commissioner of Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA), RM Gusthilantika Marrel Suryokusumo, said the Watch Party provides a platform to bring fans and communities together while strengthening Indonesia's motorsport ecosystem.
"The watch party provides a space to bring togetherfans, communities, and various stakeholders who share the same passion for motorsport. Through activities like this, we aim to bring the MotoGP atmosphere closer to the public while bulding enthusiasm toward the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026 at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit," said Marrel.
Around 180 participants from the Yogyakarta motorsport community took part in the convoy, which was one of the activities held as part of the event. The group departed from JNM Bloc and headed toward Tugu Jogja, continued along Jl. Malioboro to Kilometer Zero Point of Yogyakarta, proceeded to Alun-Alun Selatan (Alkid), and then returned to JNM Bloc as the final destination. The convoy was part of an effort to bring the spirit of Road to Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026 closer to the public and communities in Yogyakarta.
Marrel also highlighted Yogyakarta's strong passion for motorsport. “From Doni Tata to Veda Ega Pratama, we have seen talented riders from Yogyakarta who have been able to compete on the international stage. The Watch Party provides a good platform to bring communities together while maintaining that spirit.”
The participation of Indonesian riders Mario Suryo Aji in Moto2™ and Veda Ega Pratama in Moto3™ is also part of the spirit of supporting national talent on the global motorsport stage. Support from communities and the public across various regions is an important element in maintaining enthusiasm for the development of motorsport in Indonesia while inspiring the younger generation to explore and develop an interest in the sport.
Sadiq Apriadi said that as preparations enter the final phase, ITDC, together with MGPA, InJourney, the West Nusa Tenggara Provincial Government, and various stakeholders, continues to coordinate and conduct on-site inspections. Preparations cover various aspects, including the circuit and race operations, transportation and connectivity, security, healthcare, accommodation, tourism, and community involvement.
"The Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026 is also continuing to expand community involvement. Around 3.000 local workers, including 2.200 volunteers, will be involved in the event. In addition, a total of 214 MSMEs area expected to participate,representing businesses supported by InJourney Group, Pertamina, the West Nusa Tenggara Provincial Government, the Central Lombok Regency Government, as well as commercial MSMEs," said Sadiq.
Public enthusiasm for the 2026 event continues to grow. Ticket sales have reached 53 percent of the total available tickets, while the first phase of ticket sales for NTB ID card holders has sold out.

The public can obtain information regarding ticket categories, prices, and availability through the official Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia and GOERS channels, which has been appointed as the Official Ticketing Master. The Road to Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026 series, through Watch Party events in various cities, is part of the journey toward the main event at The Mandalika. From Yogyakarta, the spirit was once again reinforced through the enthusiasm of communities and fans to support the #IndonesianHeroes and become part of the MotoGP™ experience in their own country, bringing Indonesia to the world.
