The Mandalika, September18, 2026 – The 2026 Pertamina Mandalika Racing Series (MRS), Indonesia’s National Sportbike Motorcycle Championship, reaches its fourth round at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), from September 18–20, 2026.
A total of 108 starters has registered to compete across four National Championship classes: National Sport 150 (NS150), National Sport 250 (NS250), SuperSport 600 (SS600), and the Indonesia Junior Talent Cup U-15 (IJTC), with 80 starters in total. Meanwhile, 28 starters will compete in the supporting classes, namely Underbone 150 and Junior Sport 250 U-18.
The fourth round of the 2026 Pertamina Mandalika Racing Series carries even greater significance as it takes place just three weeks ahead of the MotoGP event, the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia, scheduled for October 9–11. Furthermore, the upcoming MotoGP event will feature the Moto4 Asia Cup, which will include several young Indonesian riders, namely Bintang Pranata Sukma, Maulana Malik, and Reski YH. All three riders are also competing in the Pertamina Mandalika Racing Series.
In preparation for the MotoGP event at The Mandalika, PRIDE Motorsport and MGPA, with the support of IMI as the event organizer, continue to provide education on the implementation of new regulations based on FIM rules. This initiative aims to provide managers and riders with a better understanding of the regulations they must master, particularly when competing at the international level. The new regulations were announced during the Manager Briefing and Riders Briefing on Thursday (September 17, 2026), at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, prior to the riders conducting track familiarization or Track Walk.
In connection with the MotoGP event in Indonesia, where Pertamina serves as the title sponsor and the circuit's naming partner, the fourth round of the 2026 Pertamina Mandalika Racing Series also demonstrates its support for the development of motorsport in Indonesia. The participation of young Indonesian talents in the national championship provides them with an opportunity to progress through a structured and measurable competitive pathway before advancing to higher levels of competition.
Ananda Mikola, President Director of MGPA, said that ahead of the MotoGP event, the global motorsport community will turn its attention to Indonesia, which consistently delivers intense racing action.
"We have local heroes such as Veda Ega Pratama and Mario Aji, who compete in Moto3 and Moto2, respectively, as and added value. Veda Ega Pratama, for example, emerged from the Pertamina Mandalika Racing Series. Therefore, we hope that many more young riders wil follow in their footsteps. this is an opportunity for the juniors to compete fiercely while continuing to upholf the highest standards of sportsmanship," said Ananda Mikola.
The 2026 Pertamina Mandalika Racing Series consists of five rounds and this year is supported by Pertamina, the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia, Bank BRI, SARGA Motorsport, Speedwork, Pirelli, Honda, Yamaha, NitiRacing, RCB, UMA, GS Astra, Ulti-X, Arai Indonesia, Cargloss Helmets, RK, Honda Community, Dainese Indonesia, Noor Dinar, MFZ, Chemco, Koizumi, Trastar, Narmada, and Ohlins Indonesia.
In addition to being available to spectators free of charge at Grandstand A, the 2026 Pertamina Mandalika Racing Series can also be watched via live streaming on the Mandalika Racing Series YouTube channel.
New Regulations Implemented in Round Four.
The new regulations to be implemented in the fourth round of the Pertamina Mandalika Racing Series include:
Additional riders advancing from Q1 and Q2. In previous rounds, only 10 riders advanced to Q2 based on the combined results of two official practice sessions. This number has now been increased to 14 riders. Meanwhile, the number of riders advancing from Q1 to Q2 has increased from two to four of the fastest riders. This regulation applies to the NS250 and IJTC 150 U-15 classes.
Disspensation to participate in the race without a qualifying result. Riders who experience technical problems or injuries during the practice sessions may be permitted to participate in the race, starting from the back of the grid, subject to approval by Race Direction. The rider must record a lap time equal to or faster than 107% of the fastest rider’s time in either of the Official Practice sessions (FP1 or FP2).
Limitation on riders starting from the Pit Lane. The number of riders starting from the Pit Lane will be limited to a maximum of 10 riders. If the number exceeds this limit, the race start will be repeated using the Quick Start procedure.
Start Warm- Up procedure from the Pit Lane. This procedure applies when a rider leaves the grid for any reason or is late leaving the Pit Lane to participate in the Sighting Lap during the Warm-Up Lap. The rider must start the Warm-Up Lap from the Pit Lane, return to their original grid position, and serve a Double Long Lap Penalty.
Race Start procedure for riders receiving a Pit Lane start penalty. Once the official race starts, indicated by the green light, riders in the Pit Lane must remain stationary and wait for the green light at the Pit Exit to be switched on, after the entire group of riders on the track has safely passed the first corner (or crossed the Pit Exit Line).
Once the green light is switched on, riders are permitted to enter the track. However, they must comply with the pit lane speed limit using the pit limiter until they pass the outer boundary line of the Pit Lane. Riders are also strictly prohibited from crossing the white line marking the pit exit blend line in order to avoid dangerous collisions. This procedure also applies to riders who are unable to complete the Warm-Up Lap properly due to a crash, engine trouble, or other circumstances
