The Mandalika, October 8, 2026 – Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit has officially received Grade A Homologation from the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) for 2026. With the issuance of this homologation license, Indonesia’s flagship circuit in The Mandalika, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), has been declared compliant with FIM standards for hosting FIM Grand Prix World Championship events, including the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026.
The Grade A Homologation was issued following a final inspection conducted by FIM on October 8, 2026, as part of the process for issuing a new homologation license valid for the 2026 FIM Grand Prix World Championships season.
The circuit license, numbered 1277, officially certifies that Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit in Indonesia complies with the FIM Standards for Circuits for hosting FIM Grand Prix World Championship events. The license grants the circuit Grade A status for 2026.
The circuit measures 4,301 meters in length, with the pole position located on the left side. For solo motorcycle racing categories, including MotoGP™️, FIM has established a capacity of up to 32 riders for both practice sessions and races.
The homologation process involved a final inspection led by Tomé Alfonso, FIM MotoGP Safety Officer, on behalf of the FIM CCR Circuits Homologation Committee. He was accompanied by Paul King, Chairman of the FIM CCR Circuits Homologation Committee, as well as representatives from Dorna Sports, the Indonesian Motorcycle Association (IMI), and the Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA).
During the homologation process, FIM reviewed various technical and operational aspects of the circuit, including run-off areas, gravel beds, tyre barriers, track markings, the pit lane, starting grid, marshal posts, light/LED panel systems, track maintenance, drainage systems, and the long-lap penalty zone.
FIM also established several maintenance and operational readiness requirements that must be ensured throughout the event, including the availability of safety equipment, spare equipment, and teams capable of responding promptly to any damage to race-support equipment.
President Director of the Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA), Ananda Mikola, said that obtaining Grade A Homologation reaffirmed the readiness of all parties to deliver an internationally standardized MotoGP event in Indonesia.
“Obtaining Grade A Homologation from FIM marks an important milestone and confirms that Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit has met the standards required to host FIM Grand Prix World Championship events. This achievement is the result of collective efforts and the commitment of all parties who have consistently ensured that every aspect of the circuit’s readiness and event operations continues to meet international standards,” Ananda said.
He added that the homologation represents not only an achievement for the circuit but also an important part of Indonesia’s preparations to welcome riders, teams, and MotoGP fans from around the world once again.
“With this homologation, we are even more prepared to welcome the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026. We want to ensure that the entire event runs safely and professionally while delivering the best possible experience for riders, teams, spectators, and all members of the public who are part of this MotoGP moment in Indonesia,” Ananda Mikola concluded.
