The Mandalika 11 September 2026, – Ahead of the upcoming Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026, scheduled to take place on 9–11 October, PT Pengembangan Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero), or InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), is strengthening the readiness of The Mandalika through enhanced security and safety systems, as well as immigration services in the The Mandalika area. This initiative is part of efforts to ensure that The Mandalika is increasingly prepared to accommodate growing activities involving tourists, business operators, event organizers, and international stakeholders, in line with the development of the area as a sportstainment destination.
Security and safety measures are being strengthened through cooperation with the Fire and Rescue Service of Central Lombok Regency. The scope of the cooperation includes fire prevention and response, identification and mapping of risk-prone areas, inspection of fire protection facilities and evacuation routes, firefighting, search and rescue operations, as well as preparedness training and simulations for workers, local communities, and tenants in the area. Meanwhile, ITDC is strengthening operational support for the Fire and Rescue Post located in the Western Zone of the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (SEZ) as part of the area's preparedness system for potential emergency situations.
General Manager of The Mandalika, Pari Wijaya, stated that security and safety preparedness is one of the important foundations in destination management to ensure comfort and security amid the increasing intensity of tourism and event activities.
“As an area develops into an internationally standardized sportstainment destination, destination readiness is not only about meeting venue and infrastructure standards, but also about ensuring that security, safety, and public services are properly implemented. Therefore, collaboration with the Fire and Rescue Service is an important part of ensuring that The Mandalika is prepared to face various situations, both during daily operations and when the area hosts international-scale events,” said Pari.
ITDC is also strengthening service accessibility for international tourists and stakeholders through cooperation with the Class I Immigration Office of Mataram, by providing immigration services at The Mandalika, located in the central parking area of Bazaar Mandalika.
Immigration services are scheduled to be available at least twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, covering various needs, including residence permits, changes in immigration status, extensions of visit visas, Exit Permit Only (EPO), Registration Certificates (TSP), changes to personal data or activities, as well as immigration information and consultation services.
The availability of these services allows immigration administrative needs to be accessed more conveniently by foreign tourists, business operators, foreign workers, and international stakeholders conducting activities in The Mandalika. This accessibility also supports the creation of an increasingly conducive environment for tourism, business, and investment activities.
In terms of security, ITDC has also established cooperation with the Regional Police of West Nusa Tenggara (Polda NTB) to strengthen operational security support for The Mandalika. The cooperation covers security assistance, contingency management, public outreach, human resource capacity building, utilization of supporting security facilities and infrastructure, supervision and control, as well as law enforcement support.
Pari stated that the three areas of strengthening demonstrate that destination management is not solely focused on increasing attractiveness and economic activity, but also on creating an ecosystem that provides a sense of security and comfort, as well as administrative services for all users of the area.
“The growth of a destination must go hand in hand with the readiness of its ecosystem. Tourists need a sense of security, business operators need a conducive investment climate, event organizers need certainty and security guarantees, while international stakeholders need services that can support their activities. Therefore, we are building cross-agency collaboration as part of our efforts to strengthen the foundation of The Mandalika as an internationally standardized integrated tourism destination that is ready to accommodate various national and international-scale activities,” explained Pari.
Through strengthened preparedness, immigration, and security services, ITDC continues to enhance collaboration among stakeholders to establish The Mandalika as The Ultimate Lifestyle Sportstainment Destination, supported by a well-prepared destination ecosystem.
