GENERAL INFORMATION NUSA DUA LAGOONThe source of waste water is separated based on its types, those are black water and grey water. Black water comes from toilet waste, while grey water comes from sink, bathroom, laundry, pool, air conditioner, kitchen and all water used for hotel activities. For the kitchen waste, grease trap is necessary before the waste goes into the instalation of waste delivery. Every hotel / restaurant has collection pit as a place to temporary accomodate the liquid waste. Then the wastewater will flow in grafitation to the nearest lift Pump Station (LPS). There are 3 LPS’ in ITDC area. The LPS’ pumps will turn on automatically based on the height of the wastewater in the tank. The pump will throw the EM mixed wastewater into the Stabilization Pool, 2 km far from it.From the LPS pump, the water will flow into Cell 1 pond, divided into 2 parts, Cell 1b. The function of this cell is to separate the oil layer and the floating solids that are still in the system of the stabilization pond. Both of the cells are separated by the fibreglass layer in the upper side, so it is easier for cleaning of floating grease / oil/dirt. The water then flows in gravitation to the Cell 2a and 2b. The java Tilapia and Nile Tilapia fishes are spread into the mini pool as the biologic indicator of wastewater. The maximal process is in the Cells 2b because it has bigger capacity, the work of bacteria is more maximal. Then the water flows into Cell 3. This pond will further neutralize the condition of wastewater before it goes into the next processing. The retention time of wastewater in the stabilization pond is at least 28 days. Nowadays the wastewater has been in the pond for 33 days, which means that the longer of the wastewater stays in the stabilization pond the cleaner wastewater will be.
