Jakarta, 19 September 2024 – Eight days before the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia, scheduled to take place at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit from 27-29 September 2024, ITDC and MGPA have organized a series of events leading up to MotoGP 2024. One of these events is the Pertamina GP of Indonesia Riders Parade, which will be held in Mataram City on Wednesday, 25 September 2024.
After competing in the 14th round of MotoGPTM in Misano, Italy, from 20-22 September 2024, the riders will immediately fly to The Mandalika, Central Lombok, NTB, for the 15th round. ITDC, MGPA, InJourney, and DORNA will introduce the 12 main MotoGPTM riders in an exciting event as part of the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2024 pre-event activities. The riders include Marc Marquez, Jorge Martin, Enea Bastianini, Pedro Acosta, Alex Rins, Fabio Di Giannantonio, Aleix Espargaro, Marco Bezzecchi, Jack Miller, Raul Fernandez, and Luca Marini. Local rider Mario Suryo Aji, who currently competes in Moto2, will also be present.
The Riders Parade is scheduled to begin at 16:00 WITA, departing from Sangkareang Park and proceeding through the main streets of Mataram City, concluding at Udayana Park.
“The Pertamina GP of Indonesia Riders Parade is part of our welcome for the MotoGPTM riders, who will greet the public in Mataram City. This event will feature 12 top MotoGPTM riders, including Indonesia’s local hero, Mario Aji. Each rider will showcase their respective motorbikes, providing fans an opportunity to get closer to their idols before they compete in the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2024,” said Troy Waroka, Chairman of the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2024.
Troy added that the Riders Parade is expected to boost interest among MotoGPTM fans and the general public to attend the event at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit. “We have planned for security during the event to ensure that the audience feels comfortable interacting with the community. This is our way of appreciating the enthusiasm of the NTB community in welcoming and supporting this year’s MotoGPTM event.”
The Riders Parade is scheduled to take place at 16:00 WITA, departing from Sangkareang Park, proceeding through the main streets of Mataram City, and concluding at Udaya Park. The involvement of the 12 featured riders highlights Dorna's recognition of Indonesia as a valuable asset in the global MotoGPTM organization. This initiative reflects Dorna's appreciation for the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2024 by bringing the racers closer to their fans, especially in Mataram City.

Before the race, MotoGPTM riders will participate in environmental awareness activities around The Mandalika area, including tree planting at the Deluxe Class of the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit on Thursday, 26 September. This will be followed by the inauguration of the world's first and only MotoGP Museum on Friday, 29 September, marking a new milestone in international motorcycle racing. Additionally, there will be a series of welcoming events featuring 250 talents, making it the largest opening ceremony in Asia.
