Experience
He is currently active as a lecturer in undergraduate and postgraduate levels at the Department of Geography at FMIPA, University of Indonesia (since 1990) and has served as Head of Cooperation Division at UI Climate Change Research Center (since 2011) and Head of UI Development Research Center (since 2014). Other professional activities include being an Advisor to Buana Khatulistiwa, an NGO engaged in spatial information services, regional and environmental development (since 1996), Researchers/Consultants for various government agencies and
multinational companies (since 1996), Instructors in various training in potential development fields economics and marketing, marketing management, marketing communications, management change, entrepreneurship, business start-up and business intelligence (since 1996), and helped to build several new companies or develop business incubation (since 2000).
Education
He graduated as a Bachelor Degree of Geography from the University of Indonesia MIPA Faculty (1987), Graduate Diploma in Geography from The Australian National University Canberra (1992), Master of Arts in Social Sciences from The Flinders University of South Australia, Adelaide (1992) and Doctor of Policy Public from the University of Indonesia FISIP (2013). Some of the training sessions that have been attended include Microcomputer Application for Demographic Analysis, Demographic Institute of the Faculty of Economics, University of Indonesia (1988), Urban Development Design, The Australian National University (1992), Application of Geographic Information Systems for Marine and Costal Development, University of Indonesia (1999), Sea Training and Workshop, NCEA-Utrech, Netherlands and the Ministry of Environment in Copenhagen (2007), IDEAS Training (Leadership and Management: Application of the “U” Theory by Otto Schammer and Peter Senge, organized by MIT Sloan-Boston and IDEAS Fellowship - UID - Boston, Jakarta, Denpasar and Bandung (2008 - 2009).
